Mark Kensett Photography Web Site

Client: Mark Kensett Photography
Project: Online Portfolio & Light Box Application
Disciplines: Web Design, Flash, Programming, Database Development

Photographer Mark Kensett wanted a professional looking portfolio web site which allowed his photographs to do the talking. Mark liked the look and feel of other photography sites which took advantage of the subtle animation and transitions made possible with Flash. We developed a self-centring Flash site which dynamically pulled in images he uploads to the server, altering the background colour accordingly.

We also developed a image browser and light box application for the site. The administration tool allows Mark to create accounts for each of his clients. He can then upload images for approval following a photography shoot, and his clients can select their favourites and compile “light box” selections.

Keysi Fighting Method Web Site & Web Application

Client: KFM Corporation
Project: Martial Arts Web Site, Subscription System & Video Store
Disciplines: Web Design, Web Application & Database Development, Flash Video

The KFM web site has been a long term project. The original concept was to build a site which set the company apart from other martial arts organisations, often with very amateur “home-grown” sites. Our design was inspired by music and movie web sites, prompted by KFM’s association with the recent Batman films. The site has evolved to incorporate a full scale admin tool used to manage a worldwide membership database. One of the key revenue-generating areas of the web site is the KFM Online University. Members sign up through the web site where a monthly subscription gives them access to weekly training sessions as Flash video. The site is also used to promote seminars and other events, and users can book places and buy tickets online. The custom built shopping basket operates in three different currencies and integrates with HSBC Secure ePayments.

We built a Flash front end for the customer-facing site, supported by a password protected administration area. A basic HTML form is used to upload the images, which are automatically resampled to the correct sizes, including thumbnails. Midday Contracts - Brochure Web Site with Photo Gallery

Client: Midday Contracts
Project: Brochure Web Site & Online Portfolio
Disciplines: Web Design & Development

Although a well established company, Midday Contracts had no online presence. As a follow up to our redesign of their corporate identity, we designed and built a web site which presented the various services the client offered, backed up with photo galleries showing samples of work undertaken in that field. The purpose of the web site was to support a direct mail campaign, which targeted specific market sectors. The basic site structure and navigation was geared towards the client’s service offerings, but in order to make the information easily accessible to their potential customers we provided a secondary navigation system based on market sector. Each of the target sectors had its own landing page with subsequent links to the various service offerings and a photo gallery.

Client: Andrew Kay, Sculptor
Project: Flash Portfolio Web Site
Disciplines: Web Design, Flash, Programming, Database Development

Cumbria-based sculptor Andrew Kay asked us to develop a Flash-driven web portfolio where he could showcase the best of his award-winning work. Andrew specifically wanted a Flash site with a fast-loading, slick front end, which would appeal to a sophisticated target market of architects, designers and specifiers. He also required the facility to self-manage the image content within the individual galleries. We kept the interface simple, and used his corporate colours – predominantly black with a red accent. The black set off the images within the galleries to good effect. Images and captions are derived from an XML file which is dynamically generated from a database on the server. A simple content management system provides the client with the facility to upload and remove images and update the database.
